The Home Screen
The Home screen is your starting point in Basecamp: open projects, organize your workspace, and get a quick view of what’s happening across your account.
Return to it anytime by clicking Home in the top left or pressing Shift + H.
Jump to:
Navigation and shortcuts
At the top of the Home screen, you’ll find quick links to key areas of Basecamp:
Use the search bar to jump directly to projects, people, or recent items.

Use the buttons on the left to quick create a project, a folder, invite users to your account, or access Adminland.
Projects and folders
Your projects appear as cards in the center of the Home screen. To create a new project, click on + Make a new project on the left.

Group projects into folders to organize related work together, then click a folder to open and browse the projects inside.
From an open folder, you can also view Activity and Mission Control for just the projects in that folder.

Star important projects to keep them easy to spot. Search for the project you want to star, then click the icon to the left of the name. This will add the project to your home screen. Click the star on the home screen to remove it.

To create a folder, click Add a folder on the left side of your home screen. Rename folders, change their color or logo, and drag projects in or out to organize your workspace.

In light mode, click the 💧 droplet icon on the left of your home screen to cycle through different
background colors across Basecamp.

Account activity
On the right side, you’ll see recent activity across your account.
This gives you a quick snapshot of what’s happening - like new messages, comments, and updates.
For real-time updates and notifications, open the notification Sidebar from My bar.
Click View all to see more activity.
