Welcome to Basecamp. This is where your team keeps conversations, work, and decisions together. Everyone stays in the loop without constant meetings or messages.
This guide gets you set up and ready to work in Basecamp.

How Basecamp works
Basecamp brings everything together in one place. You can see what’s going on, find what you need, and keep your team on the same page.
It’s a simpler, more organized way to run your projects.
Accept your invite and log in
Before you can access a Basecamp account, you’ll need to accept the invitation sent to your email.
Once you’re signed into your new account:
- Bookmark the Basecamp login page in your browser so it’s easy to return later
- Or download the app
Get oriented in a project
Work in Basecamp happens inside projects. Each project holds the messages, to-dos, files, and schedules related to that work.
You may already have access to an active project, but if you want a place to explore without affecting real work, open the “Making a Podcast” sample project.
As you check things out around, look for:
- Message Board posts for announcements, updates, and questions
- To-dos for next steps
- Docs and files for shared reference
