Message Board

Message Board posts are designed for announcements, updates, and longer discussions that your team may need to revisit later.

Replies stay connected to the original post, making the Message Board a good place for conversations that should remain easy to find over time.

Jump to:

To access the Message Board, open a project and click Message Board.

Creating a message

From the Message Board, click + New message, or press Shift + M to start a new post. You can also hover over the Message Board tool and click New message.

Give your post a title, add your content, and choose a category if needed, then post it when you’re ready.

Choosing who to notify

Before posting, choose who should be notified about the message.

Notify everyone on the project, only specific people, or no one at all. Notification settings don’t change who can view the message.

If you’re not ready to post yet, save the message as a draft and come back to it later.

Scheduling a message

Schedule a message to post later using the 🕒 clock icon in the top right corner while editing.

Scheduled messages appear in your drafts, and the Message Board shows a reminder when drafts or scheduled posts exist.

To update or remove the schedule, open the draft, click Continue editing, then adjust the timing using the 🕒 icon.

A scheduled message remains a draft if:

  • the author is removed from the project
  • the author is removed from the account
  • the account becomes inactive or canceled

Categorizing messages

Use categories to organize your Message Board and make related posts easier to scan.

Choose a category while creating a message. Categories appear alongside posts and can be filtered using the Categories menu at the top of the Message Board.

Anyone on the project can apply categories to messages. Admins and account owners can rename or customize available categories.

Pinning messages

Pin important messages to keep them at the top of the Message Board.

Open the ••• menu on a message and select Pin. Pinned messages appear in a separate section at the top of the Message Board.

You can pin up to 10 messages at a time. Pinned messages included in project templates carry over into projects created from that template.

Sorting and filtering messages

Use the controls at the top of the Message Board to change how messages are displayed.

Filter by category, search for specific posts, or sort messages by newest post, latest comment activity, or alphabetically (A-Z).

Sorting applies to everyone on the project, but only affects the current Message Board.

Formatting text and adding images

Use the editor toolbar to format your message and add images or attachments.

Insert images or files directly into a post, add lists and links, and format text while writing.
