HQ and Teams

Projects are the heart of Basecamp. Use them to manage project work, or turn them into shared spaces for company-wide announcements, department updates, team conversations, files, events, and more.

Here are a couple ways those shared spaces can take shape, from a company-wide HQ to a dedicated team space.

Jump to:

HQ

Use an "HQ" project to share important messages and links, keep track of anniversaries, and give everyone a place for company-wide conversations. People can only Ping users, admins, and owners they share a project with, so having everyone in an HQ gives your whole team a way to reach each other directly.

Create a new project, add “HQ” to its name, and make it All-Access so everyone on your team can access it without being invited individually.

Teams

Give your team a dedicated place to coordinate everyday work outside of specific projects.

Create a new project, name it after the team, and choose the tools that help them stay organized.
