Turning on Timesheets
Timesheets are enabled per project.
To turn them on, open a project and click the project name at the top of the page. Enable Timesheet alongside other project features like dates, activity, and Hill Charts.

Opening a Timesheet
Once enabled, you can open a project’s Timesheet from the ••• menu.
This opens the project Timesheet with all logged entries.
You can also access Timesheets across all projects from the Reports section.

Logging time
Log time directly from a project’s Timesheet.
Open the Timesheet , enter the date, hours worked, person, and any optional notes, then click Add.
You can also log time from messages, to-dos, and other items using the time tracking option on that item.

Viewing and editing time entries
Open a project’s Timesheet to view all logged time entries for that project.
Entries are grouped by date with total time shown for each day.
Edit or delete entries using the ✏️ and 🗑️ icons.

Timesheets in tools and items
Time can also be tracked without opening the full project Timesheet.
When you log time from within a message, to-do, or other item, you’ll see a smaller Timesheet view tied to that specific item.
From there, you can add time, review existing entries, or open the full Timesheet for more detail.
Opening the full Timesheet from an item shows entries for that tool or item only - not the entire project.

Downloading Timesheet data
Download a CSV version of the current timesheet view to work with the data outside of Basecamp.
Open the Timesheets report, adjust the filters or date range if needed, then click Download CSV. The CSV includes the current filters and date range shown in the report.
