Samsung keyboard and @mentions on Android

If you're using a Samsung device and @mentions aren't working correctly in the Basecamp Android app, the cause is likely a conflict between Samsung's default keyboard and its Grammarly integration. You have two options: switch to Gboard (Google's keyboard), or turn off the Grammarly integration on your Samsung keyboard.

  1. Open Settings on your Android phone.
  2. Go to System > Languages & input.
  3. Tap On-screen keyboard.
  4. Toggle on Gboard and toggle off your current default keyboard.
  5. Tap OK when prompted.

Note: On some Samsung models these settings appear under Settings > General management > Keyboard list and default instead.

  1. Open Settings on your Android phone.
  2. Search for Samsung Keyboard.
  3. Tap Suggest Text Corrections.
  4. Switch off English.
  5. Go back to Samsung Keyboard settings, scroll down to Select third-party content to use, and disable Grammarly.
